The Mount Vernon Fire Department is located at 311 College Ave. near the corner of 4th & College Ave. Mount Vernon Fire Department was established in the year 1880 by a community that recognized the need for fast and reliable response to emergencies. In 2024, some 144 years later, the men and women of our department continue the tradition of providing quality emergency services to citizens and guests of Mount Vernon. The Fire Department responds to well over 900 calls per year and we take pride in our quick and competent response to every call.
We moved into our new facility in January 2015 and are very proud to call this building our new home. This building provides our department the needed space to house our equipment, living space for our personnel and provide additional training on site to help keep our community safe.
Our department has been working closely with other entities for city wide improvements. Our station is open to the public and we invite you to learn about our department and the services it provides. Thank you for visiting our site.
Yours in Safety,
Ryan Riggs, Fire Chief
